With a hundred mile per hour tail wind Northwest Airlines landed in Minneapolis nearly 45 minutes early. Of course by the time they cleared a gate for our early arrival we were only 20 minutes early. After resolving a minor hotel problem (my first four days were mysteriously booked for November instead of this week!) I settled down to watching a beautiful display of lightning through my hotel window. Even though it was pouring down rain, the lightning and thunder were tremendous, every bit as good as a fireworks display!
The RNC Summer Meeting is this morning followed by the first session of our Rules Committee this afternoon.
